It's 3:15 am on a Wednesday morning, no I don't get up this early... I haven't been to bed yet. Anyone who reads this and is a crazy mom like me, will completely understand, that sometimes its the only time to get things done. So let me begin by saying I am SOOO not a blogger, never in a million years would I have imagined that I would be sitting in the middle of a dark living room, in the middle of the night using the light of my phone to see so I don't wake everyone in the house. I also just happen to be that can't think and type. I have to write everything by hand before I can type it out, thank the 90's for that. First off, a little about how we got to this point, not necessarily on the earth, because no one came here for a birds and bees lecture, but I how I decided to start blogging.
My name is DruAnne( how I got that name is another post for another day), and I am the owner of Arkansaw Soap Co LLC. I am the proud mother to four crazy, beautiful girls( ok so 2 are mine and 2 are my husbands) but for all intent and purpose I have 4 girls. They all call me mom and I have never thought of them as biological and step-daughters. And if you were to see all of them in public together you would never be able to tell that they were not related. They are my girls and I love them more than they will ever know. They are B, she's 19, works full time and lives about 7 miles from me. K, she's 17, a junior in high school, lives with her dad full time and sees me when she can. A is 16(almost 17) also a junior in high school, is a part of FFA, shows cattle and cooks at local bar and grill, she is also trying to start her own beef farm. And finally S, she's just turned 16, lives with her dad, sees me every weekend, is a sophomore in high school, also is in FFA, shows dogs and cattle, does a lot of speaking competitions. From here on out I will refer to them as things 1-4. I've done this with them for years, they know exactly which thing they are and will even answer to it in public and they all find it just as amusing as I do. I also have an amazing hubby, who is extremally supportive of everything I do, even though I'm pretty sure my hobbies and business drive him crazy because trying to keep up with the way my mind works is I'm sure exhausting for him.
About 7 years ago, I started toying around with the idea of starting my own business. Well soap was not my original passion(that's another post). I have always been a crafty person, and have become more and more passionate with the things that I create each and everyday. So with the love and support of my husband, I began creating and selling items at local craft and vendor shows(more on that later). After being successful at craft shows for many years(even through covid-19), things really took off and started getting crazy. My husband convinced me into taking my dream and make it a reality. So I made the soap company an LLC and started this amazing journey.
But still why 3:30 in the morning? You see, not only do I own my own business, have 4 kids, a house to take care of, a husband, but I also bartend 20 hours a week and during the school year I am the assistant cook at the local high school. Am I insane? Maybe, possibly a workaholic, but definitely passionate about everything I do.
